Calendar - Richland Parks & Recreation

  1. Puppy Class (Flexible Registration)

    August 23, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM @ Arts & Crafts Room

    Instructor: Krystal Ellingson This six-week class provides a forum for you and your puppy to watch and learn from other puppies and their people. Instruction will include teaching your puppy: sit, stay, down, recall, as well as leash training, household manners, behavior solutions and more. This class has a special emphasis on socialization and includes approximately ten minutes of playtime, in addition to opportunities for off leash training (indoors only). Flexible registration means you get to choose the optimum six weeks for you and your dog. Participants must pre-register in person at the Richland Community Center. Once the participants start, they must attend the six-week sessions consecutively. Must show proof of at least two puppy vaccination shots. No prerequisite.

  2. Basic Obedience (Flexible Registration)

    August 23, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM @ Arts & Crafts Room

    Instructor: Krystal Ellingson Introduction to basic obedience utilizes positive teaching methods for dogs over 8 months of age. Learn how to teach and refine skills such as: sit, stay, recall, leash training, household manners, behavior solutions and more. The class format promotes varied socialization while creating a forum of trials and successes. Flexible registration means you get to choose the perfect six weeks for you and your dog. Participants must pre-register in person at the Richland Community Center. Once the participants start, they must attend the six-week sessions consecutively. All vaccinations must be current and dog in good health to attend classes. No prerequisite.

  3. Ph.D. Canine Life and Social Skills

    August 23, 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM @ Arts & Crafts Room

    Instructor: Krystal Ellingson After your dog has completed the Master's Canine Life and Social Skills class, it's time to work on advanced training. These classes work on teaching good manners for household and family dogs, as well as helping owners to better understand their dogs. This class includes six weeks of regular class, and an evaluation during the last class. Prerequisite: M.A. Canine Life and Social Skills.

  4. Table Tennis

    August 24, 3:00 PM - 5:45 PM

    The Tri-Cities Table Tennis Association provides a place for Table Tennis players to experience, improve and advance the sport to every generation and skill level. Table Tennis play is open to the public for all skill levels. Club members make themselves available for new players and equipment is available. Don't be intimidated. Come on down!     Instructor: Jo Miller Want to start your day off with increased flexibility, strength and circulation? Then this is the class for you! Using a wide range of music and a combination of dance patterns, core work, weights and yoga, you will leave feeling energized!

This class provides a complete workout, inside and out, resulting in greater happiness and quality of life. Workouts include: aerobics, strength/resistance training, yoga, stretching/flexibility, life coaching and pilates.

    Instructor: Patti Mason, A.C.E.,Yoga Fit Level 1 Do you want to be leaner, stronger and feel a little more sassy in your life? This class is for you! You will work with weights to achieve ultimate results including abs, glutes, quads, hams, chest, back, shoulders, all core muscles and of course your heart! You will also receive tips on how to lose those extra pounds and shape those problem areas. Each class will end with 20 minutes of yoga stretch and relax. You will leave feeling uplifted and empowered!
